Paddingon Review: Marmalaud

Paddington is perfect in its intentionality and respect of audience. Not enough people talk about how insanely difficult it must be to make a tight family movie like this. It makes me feel like a kid and makes me want to hug my mom. It makes me want to dream big but also be safe and protect the things I love. It makes me want to spend less time on screens? It made me laugh. It made me laugh like a British person - watching the movie is step one in understanding that distinction. It’s damn near throw-a-copy-on-the-next- voyager-for-posterity levels of Britishisms, but in fantastically true British form it bamboozles the isms as it teaches them to you. Suspending disbelief is the easy choice as you watch this movie. If you’re watching this movie and someone says something like, “how did no water leak out,” or “why does that band follow them around” punch them in the face and tell them to get the f**k out of here.  Speaking of that band, what a choice.
